                                 “There is always some madness in  love . ..." I draw the curtain of each day open with a silent but inspired prayer to God. The bathroom has been a favourite spot for my inspired prayers, as I sat on the toilet seat; the first thing that comes to mind is the faithfulness of the Creator of Eternity, the one who holds the key to the gate of Life and Death. He is the reason I am alive today. Today is one of the days of sober reflection; I thought of my teenage experiences, the innocence, beauty and inexperience that characterize  youthfulness. REAL MOMENTS It was my birthday yesterday, songs of praises filled my heart and I feel nothing but gratitude mixed with pain. I thought of the days of humble beginnings, uncertain dreams and fears for the future. I reminiscence on my childhood days, the innocence, the daring moments, friends, childhood curiosity and the blessings of multitude of siblings. We cheered, we fought, agreed and disagreed. Above all we formed a company of defending champions and supporting when necessary. I thought of many folks out there saddled with the weight of how to make their dreams come through despite all odds. This is for the boy, girl, teenager, youth, man and woman who carry in them an enviable destiny waiting for their time in the time of life to manifest. …WEAR A TIGHT PANT Jasmine learnt from her aunt that when a man tells you he loves you, you need to weigh it on the scale of time and not on the weight of the moment. She learnt that emotional feelings and utterances can be inspired by popular circumstances and spur of the moment. She also learnt that candle night and sumptuous dinners doesn’t equal true love. This she learnt is also momentary and could be done almost by anybody. She also learnt that true love is real and not a myth. When you find one or one finds you, your heart tingles. Jasmine, also had a hard time believing that spoken words doesn’t always equal love. She further learnt that words and actions also does not equal true love. This she saw from the late night movies at grandma’s house that words and actions could be acted to make a fool of a vulnerable bae. Today is one of the special days of my life. The day of fullness. The day of celebration. When friends long lost; meet again to make up for lost times. I see you,you and you better than where we left off with lots of adventurous stories to fill the day. It is not how long you have been away, that matters but how well you have lived your life and how well mine has fared too. DREAM WORLD One day at a time, they say makes a lot better. But in this my dream world; everything looks more like a dream. No true partnership, no real friendship and communion; everyone play the adjustment game until the time you spend together expires. The holy book forewarn about the possibilities of these outcomes. It also told us how to rise above the challenges of relationships. Today I struggle with telling someone I think I could trust of certain things that bothers my mind; my fear is not been able to handle his/her reactions my fear is the other things this Individual will add to what is been said. That does not mean that there are no real, true and concerned relationships. What I have garnered from this paradox of life is that we are often endeared to people who take us lightly, who take our words with levity. BEAUTY FOR ASHES Sometimes in life we count our losses at other times we count our gains and more times than often we’re grateful for our losses, because it was necessary for the present success. Sometimes our pains seem to overwhelm our joys, we feel we’ll not live to see another day, we pray fervently that the day wrap us away along with all our troubles. Thank God not all wish come through, with the speed of light the new day comes with an air of freshness, a relief, all of yesterday’s puzzle are solved just by the arrival of a new friend, a phone call, a knock on the door or through an inspiring daily devotional that we struggle to read at first only to discover that it was specially meant for us to set us on the path for the day, strong enough to bear us wings to fly to the next phase of our life.
